These trays will breakdown within 12 weeks in a commercial composting facility. These food containers are heat resistant up a serving temperate of 100 and can even go in the microwave. The bases stack inside themselves before use and are easily compacted after use. Each one has a hinged lid (no need to throw the base away because the lid is lost) and a large lip to secure the food box when full. Their smooth outer surface means that the contents of each box can be written on the top or sides reducing time and the need for labels.
